2. Data automatically compressed and encrypted for transmission

3. Data transmitted to a secure offsite data centre via your existing internet connection

4. Secure Remote Backup then mirrors the data automatically to the second data centre

5. Lost data can be easily retrieved through the Secure Remote Backup software interface directly to your system

Technical information

• A broadband connection is necessary, however backups will take place nightly so will not affect a normal day’s internet usage

• Approximately 10Gb hard disk free space is required depending on the amount of data to be backed up

• Secure Remote Backup can run when the system is logged off, ideal for unattended servers

• A site visit by one of our technical engineers to install and test the Secure Remote Backup is preferable, alternatively it is possible to install the software using remote access with client participation

• Secure Remote Backup uses data compression and 448-bit Blowfish encryption

• Assists with compliance to the 7th Principal of the Data Protection Act 1998

• Supports all major operating systems, including Windows, Mac OSX, RM Community Connect (CC3 and CC4), Novell, Linux and UNIX

• Active Directory System State backup supported

• Supports the most common live systems including Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes

• Supports bespoke educational software packages such as SIMS, Wauton Samuel, RM Finance, RM IntegrisG2 and Pearson Phoenix

• Secure Remote Backup can run alongside existing backup software such as Symantec Backup Exec, Veritas or ARCserve

• The Secure Remote Backup software uses Attix5 software, a world leading solution certified by PricewaterhouseCoopers
